First update to Cardano (ADA) Alonzo testnet shared by IOHK

Representatives of the Cardano (ADA) development team IOHK informed the community about the Alonzo mechanism testing process. This was reported on the 5th (local time) by YouTube.

“Good first week”

According to IOHK’s statement shared on its official Twitter account, the first phase of the Alonzo testnet, dubbed Blue, has been successfully completed.

Set up nodes in the first batch of staking pool operators and pioneering testers. Cardano’s hard fork coordinator also facilitated a smooth migration of the testnet to the Alonzo era.

Meanwhile, the team and its Ada supporters noticed a number of issues with Cardano’s testnet operation.

A “walkthrough” of the found problem is demonstrated in the Alonzo testnet GitHub repository .

[Smart contract activation approach]

The IOHK team added that progress in development and integration continues underneath the water. The company asked Cardano (ADA) staking pool operators to befriend Alonzo and introduce him to colleagues.

The hard fork was named Alonzo to immortalize Alonzo Church (1903-1995), an American mathematician and computer science innovator. It has laid the foundation for the most anticipated Cardano (ADA) upgrade in 2021, namely the launch of smart contracts.

Alonzo’s current rollout plan includes five phases: Blue, white, purple, red, black. A smart contract version of Cardano could be released as early as September 2021.
