Brave entered the full-fledged takeover market. In late February, Brave announced’BAT Roadmap 2.0′ and announced the company’s plans for the effectiveness of BAT (Basic Attention Token) for search engines. The company is also working on DEX aggregator and NFT functions as part of the roadmap.
Brave (Basic Attention Token BAT) acquired Tailcat, an open search engine, to provide an alternative to Google search later this year, Coincode quoted Cointelegraph, according to Coincode.
Brave’s CEO and co-founder Brendon Ike (Mozilla founder and JavaScript creator) said that BraveSearch will be introduced by the summer of 2021. “Brave is currently working to integrate this technology and make it’Brave Search’ available to everyone. First, we will have early access for testers, and will be available to general users by this summer.”
In recent years, Brave has doubled its monthly users from 11 million to 26 million. Brave Browser currently relies on major external search engines, giving users the option of choosing between popular search engines like DuckDuckGo and Startpage with privacy in mind, and mainstream tools like Google Search.
