Kwangwoon University (President Yu Ji-sang) held the entrance ceremony for the 2021 school year on Monday, February 15, 2021.
The event was held live on the KWBC YouTube channel to ensure the safety of students and prevent infection in the local community in accordance with the spread of Corona 19.
Starting with the opening ceremony, the event consisted of national ceremonies, academic report, new student oath, remarks by President Yoo Ji-sang, and congratulatory remarks by President Jo Kwang-sik. The freshman oath was held by the freshman representatives: Joon-Hyuk Lim (21 degree in Electrical Engineering) and Ju-Young Yoon (21 degree in International Studies).
“In this era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, when the word Weed Corona is becoming a commonplace, new students entering college need Gungjeoktong (窮則通), the wisdom of reverse thinking.” I hope that through four years of time, I hope to design my own life goals in the future with the spirit of Grit, which adds persistence to challenge again after failure and passion to focus on one thing.”
Alumni Chairman Cho Kwang-sik said, “We are living in a world where the IT industry is the center of the 4th industrial revolution of convergence and AI.” Following in the footsteps of the seniors who have led, now you must play the role.” He added, “Just as Kwangwoon University is providing full support so that students can focus on their studies, the General Alumni Association promises to be your strong applicant.”
Meanwhile, 1,906 new undergraduate students entered the entrance ceremony that day. After the online entrance ceremony, Kwangwoon University’s 2021 spring semester starts on the 2nd of next month (Tuesday).
